About us...
The Lone Pine Film Festival was the brainchild of Dave Holland and Kerry Powell. They roped Packy Smith into selecting the films and the Lone Pine Film Festival was off and running. We have now celebrated over 30 years with such guests as Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Gregory Peck, Robert Wagner, and Clayton Moore. Sadly, with Kerry's recent passing, we have lost all of our founders - but strive to carry on in the same spirit... Hollywood comes to Lone Pine.
Lone Pine’s Alabama Hills and Mt. Whitney’s backdrop has served as Hollywood’s back lot since 1920, as a filming location for over 400 movies and TV shows. The festival is the only film fan gathering in the world which is held on location where the movies were shot. Films, guests, tours of filming locations, presentations, a stunt show, a Main Street Parade and an arts and crafts fair "Art in the Park." Come to where the Real West becomes the Reel West!
