JIM ROGERS PLEDGES ONE MILLION FOR BUILDING MUSEUM

NOVEMBER 22, 2002: Beverly and Jim Rogers of Sunbelt Communications spent the Film Festival weekend talking with members of the Community team, seeing the volunteers in action and commemorating the land purchase one block south of McDonalds. At the event Friday, October 11 at the site, Mr. Rogers, Rene Mendez, County Administrator, Gerry Gewe of LADWP, Supervisor Dorame, Jaque Hickman and Bob Sigman, co-directors of the Museum all spoke. Late in the weekend Mr. Rogers formally pledged one to 1.5 million to the construction project. He set Festival 2003 for groundbreaking, building construction finished by June 2004 and the official opening of the Museum for Festival 2004.
