NOVEMBER 2, 2002:  The first of a series of dinners entitled “An Evening With the Author” was a smashing success raising nearly $4000 for the Museum Endowment Fund on November 2 at Boulder creek. Spearheaded by Jaque Hickman and Chris Langley, more than 80 attendees enjoyed a roast pork dinner and “q and a” with Mr. Turan who turned out to be a very engaging conversationalist. He also signed his book Sundance to Sarajevo, which has a chapter about the lone Pine festival. The entire stock of forty books sold to the enthusiastic crowd, but more have been ordered that Mr. Turan has agreed to autograph.
