What do you do when
you have eight of the most famous television cowboys all gathered
in one place? If you are a film festival, you have a panel.
The Board of the Lone Pine Film festival announces it has
scheduled an additional panel for the 14th festival coming
up on October 10-12.
This will be a television Cowboy Panel and it is scheduled
for Sunday, October 12th at 11:30 on the high school outdoor
stage. It is free with the Festival Souvenir Button or entrance
can be obtained by buying an $8 ticket at the time of the
panel. Moderator for the panel will be Cowboy poet and western
entertaining Larry Maurice. |

| All of the actors have either
been the stars of their own shows, or frequent guest of the
best western shows on network television during the 1950s
and early 1960s. Clint Walker was the star of Cheyenne
and Ty Harden the star of Bronco playing Bronco Layne.
Both stars have many additional western roles to their credit.
Peter Brown starred in Lawman and Laredo.
Robert Horton remains indelibly branded in most fans' memories
as Flint McCullough, the scout in Wagon Train. William
Smith had a recurring role in Laredo. Kelo Henderson
starred in 26 Men. Steve Mitchell and Ben Cooper
as well as many of the other just named actors had hundreds
of guest appearances in various western series and anthology
shows.
If you were a fan of TV westerns, or your just plain curious,
the television Cowboy Panel will not only be fun, but educational
about the history and development of television.
