Dave Stamey will be headlining Friday, October 10 at 7 pm and 9 pm in Lone Pine at the 19th annual Film Festival’s 2008 event.TICKETS  Stamey is appearing in Lone Pine by popular demand. He has always been one of the most popular musicians with the local audience and he is sure to please all the western film and music fans who attend the annual event. Dave will be around all weekend during the event..

Dave has several well selling CD’s out and will be performing some of his most popular songs as well as less familiar numbers.

Dave Stamey has a new live album out. It is titled “Live at Tales From the Tavern ?"It's Just a State of Mind" ?This last February, in cooperation with Ron Colone’s fabulous Tales From the Tavern concert series, Dave recorded a live performance in front of 250 of his closest friends. “We captured a great evening.”

Here's what www.cowboypoetry.com had to say about it: ”...the next best thing to being at a Dave Stamey concert. Recorded live at California's Taproom at Firestone Walker with top-quality audio, the CD captures all of the energy of Dave Stamey's performances, and includes some of his best and best-known songs, such as "It's the West," "Buckaroo Man," "Montana," "If I Only Had a Horse," "The Bandit Joaquin," and eight other songs. The lively recording showcases the breadth of his diverse work, his skillful songwriting, his off-beat humor, his serious scholarship, his dazzling musicianship, and his love of the West.

Another CD is called “Old Friends” CD ?Dave’s new CD of vintage Western music, “Old Friends,” is finally here. These are songs about which folks have asked, “When are you going to record that?” They run the gamut from well-known to obscure, from Stan Jones’ “Ghost Riders in the Sky” to Jane Bowers’ haunting “Mission San Miguel” and from Gene Autry’s “Silver Haired Daddy” to Joe Babcock’s “Dusty Winds.”

The opening act will be the duo “South Coast” that has been getting much notice, most recently at Death Valley 49’ers events. South Coast’s Jean Pickard and Don Truby take Americana music to the crossroads of bluegrass, blues, country and folk. Their songs are a varied collection of covers and originals filled with strong rhythms, tight vocal blends, and beautiful melodies. South Coast has performed all over Southern California over the past 5 years; featured at the Oak Glenn Mountain Music Stage, Hesperia Days, Wrightwood Mountain Music Days, the Fireside and Camarillo Café Concert Series, and the Death Valley ‘49ers Encampment to name a few. South Coast’s first CD, self titled South Coast, has been very well received. Now they are itching to get back into the studio to get to work on CD number 2:

“Your harmony is spot on. Good work! Can't wait to hear more.” - D. Folk Alley Open Mic

“You can feel a true sense of warmth and kinship in this song. Don's words truly paint a wonderful picture. Harmonies and guitar parts are clean and crisp, which I love. You guys are amazing!” –R. Folk Alley Open Mic
