The Spainhower Anchor Ranch has been used for westerns for more than 80 years. It was the site of the Hacienda, Mission and Anchorvfille sets that were seen so many times in Hopalong Cassidy and Tim Holt westerns. Fresh from Scotty’s Castle and Bodie our interpret guide Debbie Kielb will help you revisit and experience these fabled by gone film times when our heros walked this ranch. 1.5 hours

Returning after a year absence, the Audie Murphy tour takes you to several locations for the most decorated soldier’s three Lone Pine films. Led by special guest Professor Geoff Mayer of Latrobe University in Australia, the group will learn details of Murphy’s body of film work as well as insite into his heroic life. 2.5 hours.

A very special tour that requires riding in a four wheel drive vehicle takes a few special fans up to the historic mining camp of Cerro Gordo 8300 feet above Keeler and Owens Dry Lake during the Festival weekend this year.The entire journey is the longest tour we have offered running from 12:30 to approximately 5 PM on Friday and Saturday afternoons. Visit the hard to reach sites of Bad Day at Black Rock, The Law and Jake Wade and Brigham Young with guide and photographer Jerry Condit. These locations are reached by our special four wheel drive bus, but expect some bumps. Loren Janes, Steve McQueen’s person stunt double, with hundreds of film credits will bring you to where he worked on the classic film How the West Was Won. See where he saved Debbie Reynolds and rolled down the hill in the conestoga wagon among many other feats for the film. 2.5 hours

Led by Burt and Donna Yost, this tour returns again after its first very popular season. Visit the Dolomite sites of Nevada Smith and Oil for the Lamps of China as well as Tremors. One of our favorite cowboy actors, Randolph Scott made parts of 12 pictures in our area and four of the very best shot almost entirely in the Alabama Hills.
